Switchy B
Switchy B is an MC who has the power at his hands and the world at his feet. His ability to glide through a vast array of genre and positively stand-out makes this versitile MC a label's dream.
He takes his first major steps at the end of 2009, where the door for UK music has finally been blown off the hinges. Tinchy Stryder, N-Dubz and Dizzee Rascal have all had number one UK singles, Chipmunk and Bashy are storming through, the OG'z with P-Money, Little Dee, and Blacks are dominating the underground and Jay Sean and Estelle are holding it down in the USA. So what makes Switchy different. The fact that he still believes he can do all the above. And why not?
Within his arsenal, Switchy has shown he has all the qualities to make a number one single, Lollipop Skank, Trouble Boi and Superhero S.O.S. are currently the front three in his star line up. His bars and flow have the potential to terrorise any rave, his freestyle over What Did He Say demostrates this as well as the upcoming 'Arsenal FC' freestyle and 'Forever' remix. And he can make tracks for the ladies and the club so there's really no reason why he can't touch the USA. Listen to the 'Sweet Dreams' Remix and Bounce and you'll hear why.
This is why is he is such a interesting talent
He has only ever worked alone, never been part of a crew. And only recently, in 2009 signed a deal which will finally put to the test which he truely has to potential to hit the heights he has talked about.
At the time of writing this, Switchy is 22 years old, and has been in music seriously for four years, and despite not releasing a single or being widely recognised yet, he has achieved the following:
- Recieved air play on both BBC Radio 1 & BBC Radio 1Xtra
- Supported Lethal Bizzle, Skinnyman, L Dot Man & BBC Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood
- Been nominated for the 2008 Glasswerk New Music Awards Best UK Male Artist
Even now he is working on his debut album, and while he won't allow us to release the names of the artists that are set to feature, what we can tell you is that they are big name artists, which can only help to enhance Switchy's reptuation around the scene.
This is an exciting time of Switchy, because he will be the first to tell you he doesn't care about the money (MUCH), he really just wants to be able to say "I am the best in this", and only time will tell if he achieves this, but the next 12 months will be a serious marker for the Milton Keynes rapper.
