The Conspirators
The Conspirators are releasing their single ‘Bubbles’ this week which has been co-written and recorded with Andy Miller the guitarist and songwriter from the 90’s indie band Dodgy .
The band’s debut single ‘Bubbles’, released on October 17th 2011 is a co-write and co-performance with Dodgy’s guitarist and songwriter Andy Miller. ‘Bubbles’ features the band’s trademark easy to grasp hooklines and the beat has a real groove,complimented by Andy Miller’s standout lead guitar , which Dodgy fans are going to love.
The Conspirators are a new indie folk rock band with style as well as a good ear for the catchy melody. Their uniqueness lies not only with their different style (which is extremely difficult to pin down) and humalongable songs, but also with the fact they have 2 lead vocalists, one male, one female, both with superb, individual and unforgettable voices.
The Conspirators burst onto the music scene in 2008 with a collaboration with legendary Fairport Convention and highly idolised vocalist Judy Dyble. A top ten UK indie chart position followed by another top 10 in the HMV charts were well deserved with their catchy indie tunes and that set the precedent of things to come. In addition the band’s eponymous track ‘Turning Green’ gave them a number one in the US independent charts and held a strong position for several weeks.
Since then The Conspirators have flown, performing alongside artists as diverse as Ocean Colour Scene, Goldie Lookin Chain, Keith Allen and Tom Hingley (Inspiral carpets), continuing to build their fan base playing festivals and gigs across the country.
Then during 2009 and 2010 The Conspirators began recording their forthcoming album ‘What’s Going On’ which has been co-written and recorded with members of the well known 90’s indie bands Dodgy and Echobelly. During this time The Conspirators have also been turning down record deal offers, one after another, and finally striking a deal with Maddie Records to release their first single Bubbles.
Their new record is influenced by artists such as Love, Fairport Convention, Kate Bush and The Kinks, with a hint of early 70’s acts such as Jefferson Airplane and Neil Young, but with a modern twist.
